This is the first Valentine’s Day that I’ll actually be going on a date, and figuring out what to wear can seriously be so difficult, as is true with a lot of other occasions. I’m the type of person who constantly worries about being over or underdressed, so I put together a couple of different options for myself. Since I had them laying out, I decided to make a post about it to give you a little inspiration, too!
This look is super casual, but still really cute and perfect for Valentine’s Day! This wine-colored bodysuit has been one of my favorites for the winter, because it’s so easy to dress up or down. I’ve always been wearing these jeans a lot because they’re so comfy! I got them in a little shop in Spain, but they’re super popular right now and could easily be found in most stores.
The pattern on the side of the sweater is also really cool and gives it a nice pop!
This look is great for a romantic date! The sweetheart neckline is flattering on everyone, and the flowy bottom adds a feminine touch. This tweed jacket is also extremely warm and perfect for cooler winter nights, since it’s still getting pretty cold in Seattle!
Booties are usually my goto shoes when I don’t want to wear actual heels! These ones are comfortable and I can easily wear them for the whole night.
But can we talk about the back of this dress…
I was immediately drawn to this dress when I saw the back, because I knew it would show off my tattoo! This is great to surprise your date when you take off your jacket, and it’s always just great to have a little surprise to a seemingly simple look.
This type of dress isn’t something I would usually buy, but the slits in the front (and back!) really drew me in. Ever since I got my back tattoo, any dress that can show it off is a winner in my book! I’m so excited to wear this dress out, and I’ll definitely be bringing it to Vegas when I go later this year with my friends!
Interesting necklines definitely seem to be making a huge appearance lately, and I’m loving it! This dress has a combined chocker basically, and the large keyhole opening on the chest really makes the well-loved LBD a lot more interesting. Something like this would be great for a night out on the town, or a cute bar!
Alright, there are four different looks for last minute Valentine’s Day outfits! I hope this was helpful, and finding what you’re going to wear is a little bit easier! If you’re looking for some great dresses check out Tobi, they have some great options for both cold and warm weather!
When I read about how busy study abroad programs were, I definitely underestimated just how crazy they could get. I feel like I haven’t had a moment to breath, let alone sit down and write a blog post or edit a video. I have so many photos on my camera that I need to edit and export in order to do blog posts, but I’ll be leaving for Spain on Saturday, so at least I’ll have time to do a lot of that then. My time here in London has flown by!
I was able to snap a couple of photos of some stuff that I’ve bought so far, so I thought I would share that with you guys, because I’ve got some good things that I’m excited to use!
One thing I was extremely excited for upon going to London, was going to a Ted Baker store! I absolutely love Ted Baker, it’s probably my favorite designer brand, and once I walked into the store I saw this beauty and knew I had to have it. I have a pink Ted Baker bag that is a bit bulky and doesn’t really go with everything, so I have been wanting to get a more neutral one, anyway. This little guy was also 50% off, so it was definitely a steal! I am a little worried about it being white, but Nordstrom has some really great handbag wipes that I will probably be investing in to keep it pristine white.
I love the gold details everywhere! And the little bow is absolutely adorable, and not gaudy at all.
Another thing I was super excited for was to be able to buy Zoella Beauty products! We don’t have them in the States, so I really wanted to get a couple while I was here. I’m waiting to try them out until I get home, so I’ll be doing a review later this summer on them! I might have to run back to Boots and get a couple more products to try out… I was really excited for this bath fizzer because it seems like a lot of fun, and the packaging is so adorable.
I honestly got this product just because the packaging is so adorable and different. I really actually do love bath salts, though, so I’m sure I’ll enjoy this product a lot.
This is the Diamond perfume from Armani, and it was 50% off when I bought it as well! I definitely lucked out. This stuff smells so amazing, and it will be perfect to use back home because the smell will remind me of London. I really want to get one from Spain to remember it by as well! I love bringing new perfume on vacation just for that reason.
Okay, can I just talk about my love for Primark for a minute? It is such a great store, and has wonderful prices on everything! I was in the need of a plain black leather jacket to go with everything, and I walked in and saw this lovely thing for 14 pounds! It was seriously a steal, and I will definitely be going back before I leave London to go buy some things.
I just had to get a couple of onesies while here since my cousin just had her twin boys! They are so adorable, and I know she’ll love them because they aren’t too tacky at all. The material is also super soft, so I’m sure they’ll be perfect for their little newborn skin!
I got another one in a different print, since I’m sure they’ll already have a lot of matching clothes.
Also, a side note on some great places to go shopping in London: Covent Garden, Camden Market, Oxford Street, and Soho area are all great places to go!
Alright, well those are a couple of things I’ve bought while here in London! I plan on going shopping one more time, so I might have another haul going up sometime next week. I’m so sad that my time in London is coming to a close, because I have definitely fallen in love with this city! I really don’t want to leave, but I know that I’ll have a blast in Spain as well.
I like to wear simple statement jewelry with my sweater, because I want the main focus to be the turtleneck aspect, and the color. Here, I have a couple of my favorite rings: my moon and star one from Tilly’s, my vine ring I always wear, and also a geode ring one of my best friends got me. I like the eclectic collection of all of them when they are put together!
Here, I’m just wearing my classic baby pink bag from Ted Baker, since really anything goes with this sweater. It gives it a bit more of a girly look, but I think pairing this with a dark bag could make it look super cool as well. I was wearing this out during the day, so I tend to go for lighter colored bags when I am running errands. This one also happens to basically contain my life, so it’s easier to grab when I know I’ll need random little keepsakes from my purse.
I like to wear my classic combat boots from Steve Madden with this outfit, because it gives the look a bit more of a grunge style to it, but if you pair different shoes with a turtleneck, it creates a whole different feel to the outfit! Thigh high boots make it look super chic, booties can add a really cute night-out look, and I love my combat boots when I wear this during the day.
I got some really great things this year from Nordstrom, Pacsun, and Brandy Melville! I went to an actual Brandy store while I was in California, so I was super excited about that! I think my favorite place this year for back to school was Pacsun, though! It’s probably my favorite store in general, so no surprise there, but they always have great deals for back to school! I also just love the clothes at Pacsun, so it was a win-win all around. I’m so excited to wear them all this fall!
I’m really looking forward to going back to school this year, since I’ve felt so inspired this summer. My schedule is going to be a lot of fun next quarter, and I think I’m finally starting to figure out what I’m going to major in, and a general plan for my life! I just hope I don’t go through the “Sophomore Slump” this year, and stay on track with my classes.
You can check out all of the pieces down below in the video I posted on my channel! 🙂 My cat, Perry, makes a surprise entrance, so keep your eyes out for that!
Thank you so much for reading (and watching!) and have a wonderful day! 🙂
While in California for VidCon, I made sure to take pictures of my outfits everyday so I could show you an outfit diary! The weather was actually pretty mild, and not as hot as it has been in Oregon, so that was definitely weird for me. Although it wasn’t as warm, it was definitely a lot more muggy! Walking to the convention center in the morning could get pretty warm just because of the humidity, but overall the weather was really great for being able to wear cute outfits. So without further ado, let’s get into the pictures!
Our first day was spent shopping a little bit, and just kind of relaxing around the hotel!
Crop top: Top Shop (please say that out loud because it’s so fun)
Shorts: Old Levi’s from my mom that I made into shorts
Blouse: This is actually my mom’s as well, and I think she got it from JC Penny’s!
Necklaces: The purple one is from a local farmer’s market, and the other one was made by Joycie!
I also really love how my hair turned out this day
I think this was my favorite outfit! I wore this on the third and final day of VidCon, and I’m so happy with how the full look came together.
Dress: Free People
Necklace: A little independent jewelry maker
The back of this dress is amazing!
I decided to wear a couple of flash tattoos this day since the back was so open! Now I’m really tempted to get a real tattoo there…
I also put another flash tattoo on my wrist! And ohmygosh it took about forty-five minutes to do my hair (you can ask Joycie who had to put up with me while I braided my mane…) but I’m so glad I took the time to do this hairstyle because it really completed the look!
We went to Disneyland on the fifth day and found Tinkerbell’s little garden, so of course we had to take OOTD’s there!
Shirt: Nordstrom
Shorts: Nordstrom
Bag: Ted Baker
Sunglasses: Forever 21
We were shopping and traveling the sixth day, so I didn’t have a chance to take an OOTD, and I was just wearing one of my old tropical print dresses, so I didn’t figure you all would want to see that. But overall, I had a blast in California! The trip was exhausting, but so, so, so incredible! I cannot wait to go back next year for VidCon! 🙂
What was your favorite outfit?
Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day!
I haven’t told you guys, but I’m a secret duck whisperer. |
