Last Minute Valentine’s Day Outfit Ideas!

This is the first Valentine’s Day that I’ll actually be going on a date, and figuring out what to wear can seriously be so difficult, as is true with a lot of other occasions. I’m the type of person who constantly worries about being over or underdressed, so I put together a couple of different options for myself. Since I had them laying out, I decided to make a post about it to give you a little inspiration, too!

Comfy and casual

Shirt: Pacsun (similar one here)
Jeans: Bershka (similar ones here)
Booties: Nordstrom Rack (similar ones here)

This look is super casual, but still really cute and perfect for Valentine’s Day! This wine-colored bodysuit has been one of my favorites for the winter, because it’s so easy to dress up or down. I’ve always been wearing these jeans a lot because they’re so comfy! I got them in a little shop in Spain, but they’re super popular right now and could easily be found in most stores.

The pattern on the side of the sweater is also really cool and gives it a nice pop!

Girly and romantic

Jacket: Forever21 (similar one here)
Dress: Tobi (link here)
Shoes: Nordstrom (similar ones here)

This look is great for a romantic date! The sweetheart neckline is flattering on everyone, and the flowy bottom adds a feminine touch. This tweed jacket is also extremely warm and perfect for cooler winter nights, since it’s still getting pretty cold in Seattle!

Booties are usually my goto shoes when I don’t want to wear actual heels! These ones are comfortable and I can easily wear them for the whole night.

But can we talk about the back of this dress…

I was immediately drawn to this dress when I saw the back, because I knew it would show off my tattoo! This is great to surprise your date when you take off your jacket, and it’s always just great to have a little surprise to a seemingly simple look.

Bold and surprising

Jacket: Primark (similar one here)
Dress: Tobi (link here

This type of dress isn’t something I would usually buy, but the slits in the front (and back!) really drew me in. Ever since I got my back tattoo, any dress that can show it off is a winner in my book! I’m so excited to wear this dress out, and I’ll definitely be bringing it to Vegas when I go later this year with my friends!

Dressy Casual

Dress: Tobi (link here)

Interesting necklines definitely seem to be making a huge appearance lately, and I’m loving it! This dress has a combined chocker basically, and the large keyhole opening on the chest really makes the well-loved LBD a lot more interesting. Something like this would be great for a night out on the town, or a cute bar!

Alright, there are four different looks for last minute Valentine’s Day outfits! I hope this was helpful, and finding what you’re going to wear is a little bit easier! If you’re looking for some great dresses check out Tobi, they have some great options for both cold and warm weather!

What has been your favorite Valentine’s date?

Thank you so much for reading and have a wonderful day (and Valentine’s Day)! 🙂

How to: Incorporate Spring Runway Trends Into Your Wardrobe

There are so many spring trends this year that I am loving! A couple of them were present last year, but this year are a lot more popular. Today I wanted to talk about how to incorporate these beautiful trends into your own wardrobe, and how to wear them in an everyday setting!

Cold Shoulder
I absolutely love clothes with cold shoulders because they look so nice, and offer a little bit more warmth than a traditional tank top would. They also have such a cool bohemian vibe, which tend to be the type of clothes that I love, and can be paired with so many different things. This year, there are a lot more options for cold shoulder tops, not only dresses, so I’m really excited for that!

This look is super chic and I love the royal blue color! While it’s a little too fancy for everyday wear, it would look gorgeous to an evening event!
Your Way
Pacsun
I absolutely love this dress! The orange is so pretty (and is also something that will be big this spring), and I love the boho vibe! This is definitely something I would wear everyday.
Fringe
Okay, it’s taken me a little while to actually like fringe. For some reason I never liked it when I was younger, but now that I’m older, I realize that it’s such a fun and cute trend, especially for spring and summer! There’s going to be a lot of it this year, and I’m really excited!
Runway:

The colors of this dress are so pretty! The whole dress seems to have an Aztec vibe to it, and I love the patterns around the waist. The fringe definitely adds an interesting texture, and really completes the dress!
Your Way:
Jacket from Pacsun
How cool is this jacket?! I love how versatile it is; you could throw it on top of a pretty dress for a boho look, or with a statement T, like the one in the picture, for a more rocker-chic look. Either way, the fringe adds so much to this jacket, and makes it so fun!
Suede
It seems that many of the trends for Spring 2016 are really inspired by the 70’s and I’m loving it so much! Suede is no exception, and is going to be even bigger this year than it was last. I have been loving all of the suede pieces, like skirts and dresses, because they add a new dimension to your wardrobe!
Runway:

All of these suede pieces are so cool, and add a really great texture to the overall look. Although suede is usually in neutral colors, it comes in a lot of different ones as well, which is nice to switch it up!
Your way:
Skirt from Pacsun
I absolutely love this skirt! Not only does it have the 70’s vibe from the suede, but it totally reminds me of a skirt from the 90’s, or something the characters in Clueless would’ve worn. The maroon color is so pretty, and the scalloped edges add a really cute touch! The buttons down the front are super cool, too. I definitely need to get a skirt like this for the spring!
Those are three of my favorite trends that were seen on the Spring 2016 runway, and that are going to be big this year! I’m so excited for spring fashion this year, because it’s so 70’s inspired. For years, my dad has always called me his flower child, since I tend to choose clothes that are more “hippie” like, so this is definitely my year for fashion. I can’t wait to start incorporating these trends into my own wardrobe, and I hope this inspired you to do the same!
What spring 2016 trend are you most excited for?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

A Pop of Pink for Spring

The cherry blossoms are in bloom at my university, and everything is starting to look like spring! I am so happy that all of the flowers are blooming – it’s definitely my favorite time of the year. Growing up, I had three cherry blossom trees at my house, and they always bloomed on or around my birthday, which made me so happy. As you all probably know, I absolutely love flowers, so I was always so excited that my favorite trees bloomed on my birthday. I’m so lucky to attend my university, because all of the buildings are so beautiful. It’s even more breathtaking when all of the flowers start blooming – especially the quad due to all of the trees.
For today’s post I was inspired by the Pantone color of the year, and Glossier (by the way, if you haven’t heard of them before, check oucheck out their unique beauty products)! Both hues of pink are so pretty, so it was a lot of fun to incorporate the petal-pink color. It goes perfectly with my school’s cherry blossoms, and it was a lot of fun hanging out there with Joycie (check out her blog here!) while taking some photos. I’m so glad one of the colors of the year is rose quartz, because it’s a color that I like to wear all the time since it goes with my skin tone so well. I have a lot of things in the color, so it was hard to find only a couple of things to wear in that color!

I’ve had this maxi skirt for a little while now, and I love it so much! I got it from Pacsun, and the pale pink is so beautiful, and goes with so many things. The pleats are also so cute, and the slits give it a nice breezyness. The material is really sheer, but there’s another layer that hits about mid-thigh so there’s no underwear disasters.
This crop top is from Forever21, and is one of my favorites, because I can pair it with so much. It has a pretty floral pattern with a couple of different shades of pink, so it looks nice with whatever it’s paired with. I especially like it with this outfit, because it has both pale pink flowers, and also darker ones that go nicely with my jacket.
I got my maroon leather jacket from Nordstrom, and it’s definitely a staple in my wardrobe. It can be paired with dresses, skirts, leggings, jeans…the list goes on and on. It’s also surprisingly very warm, so it’s perfect for this time of year, when the weather continuously goes between hot and cold.

I of course had to wear my favorite lipstick, Angelic Nude from Tarte, since it’s one of the prettiest pink lipsticks that I have come across. It pairs so well with any makeup look, and it’s super moisturizing. I also used some pale pink Urban Decay eyeshadow, which is pretty much my favorite makeup look since it’s so quick and easy to do.
It’s been raining non-stop this last couple of weeks, so we definitely lucked out in timing these photos! Just as I was walking back to my dorm it started pouring again. It seems like March showers are going to bring April flowers this year, which is just as well with me since my birthday is early April!
I also decided to wear my favorite letter necklace with this outfit, because it matches so well! This is definitely one of my favorite necklaces, and I’ve had it forever. I don’t really remember where I got it from since I’ve had it for so long! The poor chain isn’t the best anymore, so I actually need to get another hook to fix it, but it still works.
It’s a lot more fun walking to class when you get to walk through the quad, and I don’t find myself dreading it as much. Everyone always seems happier, too, since everything is so pretty and bright!
This is one of my favorite places in the quad, because the little path with the benches is so adorable! The cherry blossoms arch over the path, so it’s always nice and shady.
I just can’t get enough of these cherry blossoms!
Well, there you have it – my pop of pink outfit for the spring! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and love cherry blossoms as much as I do! They are, as I’m sure I have expressed thoroughly, my favorite trees, and I’m so happy it’s almost spring. This year is flying by so quickly; I can’t believe my birthday is in less than a month! It seems like Christmas was just yesterday, and here we are already to St. Patrick’s Day and Easter!
Are you excited for spring?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Dressed-Up Winter Look

I cannot believe it is February already. January really flew by, but overall it was a pretty good start to the year! It was one of the busiest months I’ve had in a while, which probably sets the tone for a very busy year. That is just fine with me, since it means a lot of opportunities! I just turned in my application to my major, as well as two for study abroad programs this summer. I applied to a program in London, and one in San Sebastián, Spain, so hopefully I get one. I will keep you guys posted!
As for today’s post, I’m going to be sharing an outfit that I wear a lot in the winter when I want to look a little more dressed up, or just feel like looking nice!

I thought the Seattle skyline looked so cool in this photo!
As in my Casual Winter Outfit, this is the cowl that I made myself with giant yarn! It is seriously my newest obsession, and I really want to make a blanket out of giant yarn!
My sweater is from Nordstrom, and it is definitely one of the staples in my wardrobe! It goes with most anything, can be dressed up or down, and is super comfortable!

My booties are from Nordstrom Rack, and they are super comfortable! I am super picky with shoe comfort, so I was really happy to find these.
This is the ring that I always wear, and I believe I got it at Tilly’s, but it’s been a long time! It’s a vine ring, and is one of my all-time favorites. I also always forget to take off my Fitbit when I take outfit pictures! The thing never really leaves my wrist, anyway.
My skirt is from H&M, and I love the burgundy color of it. Burgundy and maroon have both been two of my favorite colors clothes-wise for a while now. They are so pretty for the fall and winter, so I try and wear them as much as possible during both seasons!
I’m also wearing sweater tights here from Nordstrom, and ohmygosh if you don’t have sweater tights, you seriously need to get some! They amazingly enough keep you super warm, and they are so soft and cozy. I wear them all the time during the winter, because they allow me to wear cute skirts and dresses that I probably wouldn’t wear otherwise due to the cold!
All in all, this is one of my go-to looks when I want to look more put together, and can’t find an excuse to wear yoga pants and a sweater to something. These colors are all so pretty for winter, and work well really well together.
What do you like to wear in the winter when you have to look more dressed up?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Back to School Try-On Haul!

Since it is the last day of August, going back to school is looming nearer and nearer. I personally don’t start until September 30th, so I have a month yet, but I am going to be busy with moving in September! My family is going to be moving mid-September, so we have been super busy with packing. You don’t think you have a lot of stuff until you need to contain it all to little boxes! Because we will be really busy with packing, I got all of my back to school shopping done already. I’m so glad to have it all finished early this year, because without fail, I always have a reoccurring nightmare right before school that I have nothing for back to school! I couldn’t tell you why I always have this dream, because I’m always prepared, but I always do and as a college kid, it still makes me nervous.

I got some really great things this year from Nordstrom, Pacsun, and Brandy Melville! I went to an actual Brandy store while I was in California, so I was super excited about that! I think my favorite place this year for back to school was Pacsun, though! It’s probably my favorite store in general, so no surprise there, but they always have great deals for back to school! I also just love the clothes at Pacsun, so it was a win-win all around. I’m so excited to wear them all this fall!
I’m really looking forward to going back to school this year, since I’ve felt so inspired this summer. My schedule is going to be a lot of fun next quarter, and I think I’m finally starting to figure out what I’m going to major in, and a general plan for my life! I just hope I don’t go through the “Sophomore Slump” this year, and stay on track with my classes.

You can check out all of the pieces down below in the video I posted on my channel! 🙂 My cat, Perry, makes a surprise entrance, so keep your eyes out for that!

Thank you so much for reading (and watching!) and have a wonderful day! 🙂

DIY: Watercolor Shoes

Here lately, I have been absolutely loving everything watercolor! I think it’s so pretty for spring and summer (or just anytime), and the pastel color combinations are so beautiful. Because of my newfound obsession, I decided to do DIY watercolor shoes that are “painted” with fabric dye!
I am so happy with how they turned out!! They are going to be so perfect for spring, and I can’t wait to wear them with all of my dresses and skirts! They are also so comfortable, so they’ll be a great everyday shoe.
Without further ado, let’s get into how I made these puppies!
For this project you will need:
-White canvas shoes (I got mine from Walmart for $5!)
-Fabric dye in whatever color you want
-Small plastic cups
-Painting sponges
Mix all of the dyes by filling the cups halfway with warm water. You really don’t need a lot of dye; just enough to make the water look dark! I ended up putting too much blue dye in the water, so I just watered it down a bit!
Here’s what my purple dye looked like.
And here’s how the pink looked! I did have to put quite a bit more pink in the water to color it just how I wanted.
Test out the dyes on a paper towel to make sure you are satisfied with the colors! This is very important because there is no turning back once you start to put the colors on the shoes.
Start out by making spots with the color that is the darkest (or the one you want to be the “main” color).
Make sure to make the dots all around the shoe, and don’t forget the laces!
Once you are satisfied with the number of spots, start putting the second darkest color next to the first. Repeat this process until all of the first spots have little buddies!
Using the lightest color, make spots on the other side of the darkest color. Repeat this process, and fill in with the other two colors as you feel necessary. I did leave some white space in the end, but the shoes are basically covered with color! I just repeated this process over and over until I was satisfied.
 The finished shoes!
I am so happy with how they turned out – I have been wanting a pair of shoes like this for so long, and they were so much fun (and easy!) to make!
Here is my YouTube video on how to make them – it might be a little easier to follow since you can actually see how I made them!
If you guys make these, make sure to show me on Twitter and Instagram – I would love to see them!

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

OOTD: Cold-Shoulder Romper

Today was a record high so far this year! I mean, the temperature that set that record was 70 degrees fahrenheit (about 21 degrees celsius for those of you on a different scale), so it’s not like today was a fantastically hot day…But it was still nice to have some sunshine and a warm day! My mom and I actually went shopping yesterday, and I got to wear one of the rompers I bought since it was so nice!

Romper: Pacsun

Bracelet: Forever 21

My necklace was actually a gift, so I’m not sure where it’s from 🙁

Shoes: These are actually a DIY I did the other day. Post to come soon hehe.

Sneak peak of these watercolor shoes! I’m so excited to share how I did this with you guys! 🙂

I’m so glad the weather is finally warming up! It’s already almost the end of spring break, though, so that’s really sad! This quarter should be fun so it shouldn’t be too bad jumping back into classes, and it also helps that my birthday is coming up, as well as Easter! Spring is probably my favorite season because there are so many exciting things going on, and everything feels so new and fresh. Hopefully this spring will be a good one!

What is your favorite thing about spring?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

OOTD: Springing Out of Winter

We’ve definitely had a couple of cooler days this month, but so far in March the weather has been really nice, and it looks like it’s going to be a warm spring (knock on wood!) this year. This outfit is great for the transition into spring because it’s perfect for the awkward days where it’s really warm in the sun, but still pretty cool in the shade!
Sweater: Nordstrom
Shorts: Nordstrom
Shoes: Nordstrom Rack

This outfit is perfect for a chillier spring day, and it’s super comfortable as well! I love how these shorts fit, and the color is great as well. I’m also loving my booties, and I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of them this spring and summer. Again, if it isn’t already blatantly obvious, I am so excited for spring! My birthday is coming up (April 8th), as well as Easter, so I’m going to have so many chances to dress up which I’m really excited about! Finals are also finally over and spring break has officially started! I’ll be able to catch up on sleep and see some of my best friends, so expect a lot of fun posts this coming week 😉
What are you most excited for this spring?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a great day! 🙂

Comfy Chic Outfits for Finals!

Finals week officially kicks off tomorrow for me, and I don’t know about you, but I always struggle to decide what to wear during the whole week! I never know if I should go for a more put together look, or just all out sweats and sweatshirt and not care at all. That usually ends badly, though, because after the test is done I usually feel super self-conscious that I look like I just rolled out of bed (even though I probably did)! To avoid all of those situations, I put together a couple of comfy-chic outfits that are perfect for finals week!
(Notice the “coffee addict” mug…that is what I am, especially during finals week!)

Surprise Back

I’m calling this outfit the “Surprise Back,” because it looks like a normal, comfortable outfit, but the back of the sweater has this really cool rib-cage inspired cut!

I put on a pretty rose patterned crop top underneath the sweater so it would show through and look really gorgeous!

My crop top matches my laptop cover, so that’s always a plus! I also braided my hair around my whole head to keep it out of the way.
 Sweater: Nordstrom
Yoga Pants: Lululemon
Shoes: Macy’s
 Crop Top: Forever 21
I think this outfit is so cute, and you can definitely get away with wearing yoga pants! They are just as comfortable as sweatpants, and this pair is especially great because they’re high-wasted so it looks better with the crop top!

Graphic Tee

Another way to dress up yoga pants is to wear a super cute graphic tee!

(Looking at that picture of ice cream on my friend’s wall…so much better than studying!)
Graphic Tee’s are such a fun way to make a boring outfit pop, and they are usually oversized and comfy! I love this one so much since Sunday’s are my favorite days, and I love the saying “Sunday Funday!”

It also helps to do a cute hairstyle as well, since it shows you put in a little extra effort! I also like to have my hair out of the way during tests because when I get stressed I tend to mess with it and lose focus! I don’t know if that’s just me, but either way it’s just so much easier to deal with hair when it’s up and out of the way.
 Shirt: Nordstrom
Yoga Pants: Lululemons

Low-key Jeans and Flannel

Ok, flannels are the best. They are so comfortable, and look so cute and casual!
This outfit is perfect if you want to look just a little bit more put together, or if you are going to be going anywhere after your final (celebratory frozen yogurt?!)!

Flannel: Garage
Jeans: American Eagle
Shoes: Converse

Comfiest Put-Together Outfit

This outfit may look put-together, but do not be fooled! It is just as comfortable as – if not more than – the first outfit!
This outfit is perfect if you have a last minute study date with that cute boy in your class, or if you absolutely have to look nice for something, like a presentation! It is still super comfortable since it’s a shift dress and oversized sweater, but looks really nice.
Pairing cute jewelry with this look makes it look even more put-together!

Again, I also like having my hair up just to keep it out of the way. This hairstyle is super easy to do, and looks really cute!
Honestly, I would wear this outfit all throughout finals if it was socially acceptable!
Sweater: Nordstrom
Dress: Nordstrom
Necklace: Forever 21
Ring: Tilly’s
Shoes: Macy’s
This is also a really great option for those of you who live in warmer places and yoga pants and sweaters are way too much to wear! You could just wear the dress if the sweater would be too warm, or pair it with a thinner one!

Alright, those are the options I thought of for comfy chic finals outfits! You can mix and match any of these to create your own unique variation, and they would all be so cute! If you guys try out any of these outfits, make sure to show me on Twitter (@stnkrbug) and Instagram (@stnkrbug)! Good luck to those of you who have finals – we can do this!

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂

Spring Break Bikini Lust List

My Spring Dress Lust List seemed to go over really well, so I thought I would do a Bikini Lust List for spring break! I’m not traveling anywhere like Mexico or Florida, but I am going to California (FOR VIDCON!!!) this summer, and want to get some cute bikinis when they’re on sale! So, since I’ve been looking at some, I thought I would just do a whole post about them!

Even though I’m not going on a vacation over Spring Break, I’m still super excited! It’ll be nice just to stay at home and relax for a week and a half, and see my friends from high school. And I have Vidcon and LA to look forward to this summer! I seriously cannot wait.

Which is your favorite bikini? Do you have any Spring Break plans?

Thank you so much for reading, and have a wonderful day! 🙂
