So a couple of weeks ago I had a chapstick dilemma. I have used the Pomegranate Burt’s Bees chapstick for years, but I haven’t liked the last couple of tubes I’ve bought, so when I ran out of my most recent one I decided to switch to a different chapstick. My friend recently got the Nivea Lip Butter so I decided to give it a try since she loved it so much!
This stuff smells so amazing! If you like the smell of vanilla, then you’ll really like this. It goes on your lips clear and it just melts into your skin – it doesn’t get all gross an hour later like some chapstick (I don’t know if you guys know what I mean haha I don’t really know how to describe it). So if you’re looking for a really good chapstick, go for this one! I have been using it for a couple weeks now and I’ve been really satisfied. I think I’ve found my new favorite!

I was going to try and have this post up on Saturday, but for some reason I couldn’t download the pictures from my camera to my laptop. I got a new camera for Christmas and I love it so much, but now my poor laptop can’t keep up. It’s starting to really slow down and crash easily, so I need to get a new one but I really don’t know what kind I want…it’s such a hard decision!
Anyway! Today I’ll be reviewing The Foil Look nail polish from Formula X.
A couple of years ago, I saw a picture in a magazine of metallic nails, and since then I have had an infatuation with silver nails. So the other day when I got an email from Sephora and saw this product, I got so excited and immediately went out to buy it. The little kit is $25 which is pretty spendy, but I had a coupon and you get two bottles of nail polish (a base and the actual silver color) in the box. So in reality, it’s $12.50 for each bottle, which isn’t too terrible. And honestly, I have been wanting a metallic nail polish that actually looks like metal for such a long time so I was willing to pay that much.

The base that it comes with is supposed to help the nail foil look more metallic, and it did look a little different from my other nail polish base. The directions also said to use the Formula X nail cleanser on your nails before the base for the best results, but I just used some nail polish remover to get the excess oils off, I think it works just the same. Then you just apply a thin coat of the base, let that dry, and apply the nail foil. It also says not to use a top coat in order to “preserve the mirror finish” so I didn’t put one on. The nail foil dried really quickly (within two minutes!) so that was really convenient.
I really love how it looks on my nails! I was so excited to find this product and I’m really glad I bought it. The box says it’s a one night wear, and now I see why. Without a top coat, the nail polish wears off and chips really easily. I have had it on for a couple of days and it looks like it’s been on for a week. However, I put a top coat on a couple of my nails to see if I could tell a difference, and you really can’t. Those nails also don’t have chips like the others, so next time I will be putting a top coat on all of my nails. All in all, I really love this product and I’m very satisfied! I definitely recommend getting this if, like me, you have been looking for a true metallic-looking nail polish. I have been driving my family crazy from comparing my nails to anything metal that I come across. It really looks like you have silver on your nails! I could go on and on about how much I love it.

Today I thought I would share my thoughts on the Buxom Full-On Lip Cream.
I ordered some products off of Sephora one day and got three free samples, and the Buxom lip gloss in the shade “Katie” was one of them, and honestly ever since I got it, I have been hooked.
The color is so pretty and natural looking, and it gives your lips a tingling sensation. I don’t really know if I notice a whole bunch of lip plumping action, but I love the lip gloss regardless. It stays on for a long time and my lips never have that weird gunky after-lip-gloss feeling when I have used this lip gloss all night. And a little goes a long way! You definitely don’t have to layer it on a ton of times.

This color is so gorgeous and I have been wanting a burgundy colored lip product for so long, so this is perfect! I love it just as much as the other shade and it is just as great.
So there you have it – my favorite lip gloss! The other shades in this line are also really pretty, but these are definitely my favorite. They also layer over lipsticks really nicely!

I know I have been MIA for about a month…in my defense, I have been so crazy busy. School has been unbelievably hectic with homework and tests, and reading, and everything in between. Throw in college applications and I’m drowning! I turned in my first college app on the first, and it was so surreal…I can’t believe in a year I’ll be living somewhere else in a dorm!
Anyway, between all of that craziness, I have tried to set aside some time to cleanse my poor stressed out pores (see what I did there? I know, it was bad). I decided to try the Origins Clear Improvement mask with active charcoal to clear out pores. Especially because I used some foundation that was realllllly old. Like two years. I know. Even I’m shaking my head at myself. I was just way too busy to spend the time to go and buy new foundation, and I literally only use it for special occasions, which is maybe once every three months. I use BB cream for everyday wear, so I find it a waste of money to buy a whole bottle of foundation that I will rarely use. Long story short, I should’ve just stuck with BB cream. My face didn’t break out, I rarely do since my skin is so dry (knock on wood!!) , but since it is super sensitive, I had little red dots on my face that were really annoying, and some have yet to go away. Just a quick note, lemon juice is supposed to get those pesky spots away!
And so, I decided to try this mask! I had heard really good things about it, and I have always wanted to try a face mask that looks like mud. I really don’t know why.
This mask seemed perfect, so I went to Sephora and got it! I bought the smaller tube since I hadn’t tried it yet, and I didn’t want to be stuck with a giant tube of a product I wouldn’t use.
When you put some on your hand it looks like this (as you would probably expect)
The product goes on really easily, however it is easier to start out with a single, thick layer. The first time I put it on, I first put on a thin layer and was then going to put on a couple more layers, but when you put more product onto a pre-existing layer, the first layer comes off. If that makes any sense, it’s hard to explain. So I ended up with too thin of a layer that dried in about five minutes, when you’re supposed to have it on for 10-15 minutes. So just go crazy and slop on a thick layer!

Basically, once the mask has dried, it should feel like you have just had botox and can’t make any facial expressions. I know, I look a little crazed in the first picture, but you really feel like you can’t even smile. It isn’t a bad feeling, your face is just very stiff!
When I first put the mask on, the mask felt almost minty. It feels very nice though! I put on a thick layer, and then I just hang out for 15 minutes to let it dry. After that, I rinse off the mask and put on face lotion. I’m telling you, my face feels amazing after I take the mask off! My skin is so soft and it feels so clean and refreshed. It also looks very vibrant! I give this face mask a full five stars and two thumbs up. I now use it every Sunday, as it’s a great destresser and refresher for the long week ahead. I really recommend this mask for anyone! Trust me, my skin is super sensitive and this mask never harms it! It also reduces the size of pores and does indeed clear them out. However, don’t expect instant results! It takes a couple of times for you to visually see pore reduction and reduction of blackheads.
