So for the longest time I have been dying to go to Lush! I have seen so many bloggers rave about their products, and watched so many hauls of all the great products they sell, but I hadn’t even been to Lush yet! The most local one around where I live is about thirty minutes away, which honestly isn’t that bad, I have just been way too busy to try and fit that visit in. However, I had varsity swim districts this past Friday and Saturday, which was literally five minutes away from Lush, so I had the perfect excuse to go on Friday!
I didn’t get a lot, just the It’s Raining Men shower gel and three samples, the Ocean Salt Scrub, Dreamwash Shower Smoothie, and Skin’s Shangri La Face Moistourizer (not pictured because that one is actually my mom’s haha). I didn’t get the full size of the scrub or shower smoothie because I wanted to try them out first to make sure they didn’t irritate my skin, as I have suuuuper sensitive skin that tends to be very picky with new products. However, I have tried all of the products except the face lotion since it’s for more “mature” skin (my mom tried it and she absolutely loves it!) and they have worked wonderfully with my skin! They all smell so amazing, and my skin feels so soft after I use all the products. I will be going back this week to get the full sized tub of each sample!
I am so excited to go back, because I also want to look at their body butters and deodorant. I looked up some reviews about the deodorant because I want to make sure it actually works, and the general consensus seems to be good! I also love that they make all of their products themselves with natural ingredients and that they don’t test on animals! I always try and get products from companies that don’t test on animals, so Lush is a godsend. Honestly, I could just go on and on! I’m just so excited to have finally been to Lush haha!
Have you ever been to Lush? What is your favorite product? Have you tried any that I mentioned in this post?
As always, thank you so much for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of your day! (:

So prom of course isn’t until May, but I really want to get my dress sooner rather than later so I’m not running around trying to find one a week before! Last year I got my dress when my family went to Florida over spring break, so I knew no one else would have the same dress. I want to order it online this year so it goes the same way! Haha I really want to have a unique dress that no one else has, since there isn’t really a vast variety of dresses for prom in stores. So I thought I would share with you guys some of the dresses that I have found so far that I really like!
This is one of my favorites that I have found so far. Probably actually my number one as of now! I really want a bold red dress because I absolutely love the color red when it comes to special occasions, or if I want to stand out. I think it really makes a statement and would look nice against my pale skin.
I really love the cut and style of this dress! It reminds me of the typical Greek Goddess dresses haha. The color is also so pretty.
This one is so pretty. I love the top of it, and how it is a sweetheart neckline, but a little different. I don’t know, maybe this one is my favorite…
These two are really similar, but I don’t know if I like the one with the little jewel piece, or the one without. But looking at them side by side, I think I might like the one without it more.
Blue is my favorite color, so of course I had to look at some blue ones. I don’t really know if it would compliment my skin tone or hair color per se, but I thought this one was really pretty regardless. I love the cut of it and the ombre effect.
Here is a similar one, except in a deep purple color. I really love this dress surprisingly, since I don’t really tend to go for purple clothing. However it might really make my green eyes pop and look really pretty against my skin and hair.
I absolutely love this color, I actually have a really similar color in an Essie nail polish, and I love this dress as well! The back is so gorgeous – I really like dresses that have interesting backs. And the detail in the front is also really pretty. I could definitely see myself in this dress!
It also came in yellow, which I thought was really pretty. I love the color yellow, and I have a shirt that’s almost the exact same color that looks nice against my skin, so this dress might look nice on. And again, the detail on the front is so gorgeous.
So there is a little peak at what I have been pining over for prom! I hope to order my dress soon so I will let you guys know what dress I end up ordering (:
Which dress is your favorite? What color formal dress do you usually end up going for?
Thanks for reading, and I hope you have a great rest of your day! (:

So it is finally February, and honestly, I’m so glad! January is always so dreary and gloomy, so hopefully February will be better. But I really can’t believe we are in the second month of 2014 already…and there are just four months until I graduate high school! Really exciting times (:
But, back to the point of this post, I thought I would share what my favorites of January were because I actually had a couple this past month!
I of course have to start out with my Naked 3 palette! I got it for Christmas and I used it a lot in January! The colors are so pretty and they really compliment my skin tone since I have a lot of pink undertones. And the shadows are so nice and buttery, and combined with a good eyeshadow primer, they stay all day! I didn’t show all the swatches because I figure by now there are tons and tons of posts about the Naked 3.
The next product is the Honey Baked Bronzing Powder in shade 02, fair matte, from the Body Shop. This bronzer is so amazing! It is really buttery and it looks so natural on. Since my skin is really fair, I have to be careful about getting bronzers that don’t have the same undertones as my skin, but this one looks really great on! It gives my skin a nice glow without looking like I spread some Nutella below my cheekbones. They also have three other shades that are really pretty.
Next up is the Almay Oil Free eye makeup remover. Before I got this product, I was using baby oil to remove my eye makeup, but I read on a couple of different websites that it actually isn’t that good for your skin, especially the sensitive skin around your eyes. I also didn’t like how it left such an oily residue on my skin. Since Almay is made especially for sensitive skin, I tend to lean towards them because I know it won’t irritate my skin.
I have really been loving this so far! I put some on a little cotton pad and it takes off all of my eye makeup with a couple of swipes! Even mascara which makes me really happy because I hate taking off mascara. I used this makeup remover to take off all my eye makeup after Winter Formal, and I was very satisfied.
I have actually been using this face wash for a long time now, but I have just recently started using it every night after I use a face wipe (the same brand and type as this face wash) to take off my BB cream. I have noticed that my skin has been really soft and it feels so much cleaner instead of only using a facial wipe! I really love Burt’s Bees because they have so many sensitive skin options, they are all natural, and they don’t test on animals. A win-win all around!
Now onto some non-beauty favorites…
My parents got me this sweater for Christmas, and I have been wearing it non-stop! It is so comfortable and warm, and super easy to throw over anything to make it look like I actually made an effort instead of just throwing on a shirt and jeans. I also really love the pattern! I have really been into tribal prints lately.
I got this little guy at Forever 21 and I love it so much! I have been looking for a ring holder forever, and when I saw this one I was sold. I have always loved the ocean, so anything sea related, I’m game. This is also super nice to have because now I have a place for all of my rings! Before they were just scattered everywhere on top of my dresser in my closet and super easy to lose.
This is also my favorite ring that I bought this month. I really love jewelry that looks like branches, or leaves (really anything nature related) so I instantly fell in love with this one! Haha, I was actually talking to one of my friends earlier this month that this is how I want my wedding ring to look like.
I got this candle for sale at Bath&Body Works and it smells so yummy! It’s the perfect spring scent and it really goes with the other decor and color scheme of my desk. It’s just a really good candle for a nice post-January blues pick-me-up! (what a mouthful)
I got these curtains for Christmas as well, and I love them so much! Before I just had plain white ones, but these really pull my room together. I also have a set on another window in my room, but the lighting looked really weird in the picture so I couldn’t take a picture of them haha.
A closer look at the pattern.
I also have fairy lights in them! I have always had them in my curtains so I was glad they worked with these ones as well (: They just make me so happy and I love they way they look at night.
I also got matching pillows for Christmas to put on my couch, and I adore them. I loved my room before, but now everything really comes together!
Well that’s it for my January favorites! I’m so glad to be entering a new month and I hope it’s a really great one for you!
What were your favorites for January? And what are you looking forward to in February?
Thanks so much for reading and have a great rest of your day! (:

A couple of days ago I went to a Bridal Convention with my family. I know it sounds weird, but my mom has a bakery so we went this year to see if it would be worth it to have a booth there next year. I can’t tell you how many times I got asked if I was getting married! Haha it was actually pretty funny, and it was cool to see all of the pretty dresses and jewelry! But I thought I would show you guys what I wore since we had to get somewhat dressed up.
Sweater: Forever 21
Skirt: H&M
Tights: Nordstrom
Booties: Macy’s
I thought this outfit was perfect for the convention because it was kind of dressy but still casual, and very comfortable at the same time! I also really love skater skirts, so it was a good excuse to wear one (:
I got this necklace a couple of years ago from Charlotte Russe. It’s one of my favorites because of the back!
I absolutely love this bow in the back! I think it’s a really nice detail of the necklace.
These shoes have quickly become one of my favorite pairs! They go with so many outfits and they are the perfect booties for someone who doesn’t want a high heel pair (me in a nutshell!).
And of course, Perry had to get in on all the fun…
He is getting so big! And his sense of exploration is getting just as big, and as a result he broke the ceramic holder for one of my plants. He is really sweet for the most part though, so this doesn’t happen too often (:
So there it is! I really love this outfit and I think it’s pretty versatile as well. I also love the colors for winter!

I was going to try and have this post up on Saturday, but for some reason I couldn’t download the pictures from my camera to my laptop. I got a new camera for Christmas and I love it so much, but now my poor laptop can’t keep up. It’s starting to really slow down and crash easily, so I need to get a new one but I really don’t know what kind I want…it’s such a hard decision!
Anyway! Today I’ll be reviewing The Foil Look nail polish from Formula X.
A couple of years ago, I saw a picture in a magazine of metallic nails, and since then I have had an infatuation with silver nails. So the other day when I got an email from Sephora and saw this product, I got so excited and immediately went out to buy it. The little kit is $25 which is pretty spendy, but I had a coupon and you get two bottles of nail polish (a base and the actual silver color) in the box. So in reality, it’s $12.50 for each bottle, which isn’t too terrible. And honestly, I have been wanting a metallic nail polish that actually looks like metal for such a long time so I was willing to pay that much.
Nail foil base (left) and the nail foil itself (right)
The base that it comes with is supposed to help the nail foil look more metallic, and it did look a little different from my other nail polish base. The directions also said to use the Formula X nail cleanser on your nails before the base for the best results, but I just used some nail polish remover to get the excess oils off, I think it works just the same. Then you just apply a thin coat of the base, let that dry, and apply the nail foil. It also says not to use a top coat in order to “preserve the mirror finish” so I didn’t put one on. The nail foil dried really quickly (within two minutes!) so that was really convenient.
I really love how it looks on my nails! I was so excited to find this product and I’m really glad I bought it. The box says it’s a one night wear, and now I see why. Without a top coat, the nail polish wears off and chips really easily. I have had it on for a couple of days and it looks like it’s been on for a week. However, I put a top coat on a couple of my nails to see if I could tell a difference, and you really can’t. Those nails also don’t have chips like the others, so next time I will be putting a top coat on all of my nails. All in all, I really love this product and I’m very satisfied! I definitely recommend getting this if, like me, you have been looking for a true metallic-looking nail polish. I have been driving my family crazy from comparing my nails to anything metal that I come across. It really looks like you have silver on your nails! I could go on and on about how much I love it.
What’s your favorite nail polish look? Have you ever tried any metallic shades?
Thanks for reading, and have a great rest of your day! 🙂
